| Chris Tokuhama – Scholarship Chair | |
![]() |
Recently promoted to Associate Director with the USC Office of College Admission, Chris continues to travel around the country in an effort to recruit students for his alma mater. Chris is also a professional student with USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, seeking a Master’s Degree in Communication Management with a focus on the intersection of popular culture, technology trends, and social media. Looking forward to his thesis, Chris is contemplating the changing roles of vampires in the modern age and how young people’s preoccupation with death might hint at their underlying attitudes toward their identities or the degradation of society. In addition to completing coursework, Chris is also involved in a research group, with professor/scholar Henry Jenkins, which examines the role of pop culture in politics. Committed to the University, Chris has become the Scholarship Chair for the USC Alumni Club of West LA and has begun work with the Asian Pacific American Student Services’ leadership development group, CIRCLE. As a session facilitator, Chris works with undergraduate API students to think critically about issues concerning ethnicity, socio-economic status, education, identity, and gender. |

I have worked in the advertising industry for the past 9 years with experience in both the LA and NY markets. I worked on various accounts including automotive (Lexus and Volkswagen) spirits and beverages (Diageo portfolio – Jose Cuervo, Red Stripe, Guinness and Johnnie Walker) to gaming (Konami). Currently, I work in the ad sales division within CBS Interactive, representing GameSpot and Metacritic. Oh and I’m a die hard Trojan as well, as I went there for both undergrad and grad school. |
